Imperial War Museum
This week, Year 5 visited the Imperial War Museum to support their learning of Britain in the Second World War! It was a fabulous experience as not only did they explore what it was like to seek safety from the enemy bombs in an Anderson Shelter, but they also met two real life evacuees! They were able to ask questions and find out what life was really like for a child during the War. They listened eagerly to the experiences of Peter and Moyà, both in their eighties, who described their time both in London during the war and their new temporary homes as evacuees. Now year 5 are looking forward to their next fabulous trip to the war ship, HMS Belfast!
