Making a difference in Sri lanka
During half term, Ms Bent, Mrs Venn and Ms Sekerova travelled half way around the world to the beautiful island of Sri Lanka to work with a village school as part of a British Council Education project. They worked with the teachers and children in developing leadership skills and sharing good teaching practice. At times, Dodamgaslanda Royal college struggles with their teaching and learning due to lack of resources such as reading books and pencils. In our International evenings, we raised £185 which then staff took to Sri Lanka and purchased a huge list of the much-needed resources for the school. The staff and children were completely overwhelmed by the gifs that came directly from our families here at HPACP. Therefore, we would like to thank all parents and staff for their generous donations and for making a difference in Sri Lanka.
As a school, we want to know more about this whole trip and the impact made, therefore the teachers will be delivering a special presentation during Monday’s assembly for children and parents. If you are free, please come and join us. We look forward to seeing you there.
