Story Mapping in Reception

Reception children have been working on mapping their ideas to create their own story. This is Isla's map. She depicted and planned her very own story about a group of friends who go off to play one day, then one of the friends, falls and hurts her leg. The triangle represents the friends heading to hospital where the child gets crutches to learn to walk again. It appears from her pictures that the leg that seemingly 'fell off' then 'grew back' and after going back to the hospital for a check up the girl was completely well and of course, lived happily ever after! Isla did a fabulous job in telling this story in her own words using her map. Well done Isla.
